Congratulations Suki for achieving Employee of the Month yet again!!!
Suki was nominated by a parent for her care, attention and gently nature whilst caring for this particular child over the past year. The parent commented on behalf of her child “Suki has helped me to develop my confidence and helped me with all my activities at nursery.”
6 Staff from both units of The Kiddies Day Nursery achieved the Early Years Foundation Stage Level 3 Certificate in January this year.
From left to right the successful candidates were:- Stourport Manager Janice Parkes, Laura Parker, Hayley Hodgkins, Leah Wooldridge, Owner Denise Hodgetts, Yola Merrick.
This Certificate supports new initiatives set by the Govt in September 2009 and enables the staff to gain a greater understanding of the requirements of the new initiative and supports the nursery ethos of “learning through play, the Kiddies way”. Well done !!
Congratulations Sofia on being nominated by a colleage for giving services above and beyond the call of duty, when you allowed them to ‘invade your human rites over the weekend, and help them design their xmas project’………. thanks Sofe…
The award recognises and celebrates the Kiddies Day Nursery’s achievements in personal safety and child protection, healthy eating, health-related exercise and loss and change.
It also recognises the management’s achievement in staff health, wellbeing, training and professionalism.
Denise Hodgetts, owner of the nursery, said: “Staff worked together to achieve this award and we are very proud of everyone’s contribution and practice to have achieved this fantastic award.
“Completing this award has made our nursery a much happier, healthier place to be for the wellbeing of staff, children and their families. We have come out this with a greater knowledge.
“One of the units covered loss and bereavement, which has been vital to us in supporting many of our families who have tragically been affected by this in the recent months. We were able to support the child and the family during some very difficult times.”
She added that the nursery and its users were feeling the benefits of the award.
“We will be constantly reviewing and updating the knowledge gained,” she said.
Once again Lisa Hurdman, the senior staff member of our Stourport Nursery has been awarded the title ‘Employee of the Month’. Parents nominating Lisa commented “Lisa is always prepared to go the extra mile”.
Lisa has worked for The Kiddies Day Nursery for a number of years and has proven herself to be a most professional and caring member of staff.
50% of staff now qualified in both Childcare and Playwork ! – what an achievement!!
Over half of the staff at The Kiddies Day Nursery have now qualified as Playworkers after taking part in the recent Government initiative enabling all Level 3 carers in early years to complete a proportion of modules from the Playwork standards to achieve this Certificate.
This is a fabulous achievement both for the staff as individuals and the nursery as a whole. When the Kids Klub is open during all school holidays and any single school day closure, the Klub will be spoilt for choice as to what staff to use with the Kids Klub members – well done everyone !!!
From left to right, Claire LeRiche, Sofia Middleton, Charlotte Finlay, Catherine Thomas, Lisa Hurdman, Kelly Gregg, Laura Parker, Hayley Hodgkins, Denise Hodgetts and Leah Wooldridge. Well done!
Well done to Catherine, a member of staff from our Stourport unit, for being voted the ‘Employee of the Month’ for October 2009. “Always smiling and cheery, an asset to the baby unit”, was the parents comment.
Thank you to all the parents for your many nominations, please keep it up for next months vote.
